Black-bellied Whistling Ducks
Intermittant visitors to our ponds..
A very interesting and pretty duck


Roseate Spoonbill
look at those colors... Beautiful!

White Ibis- (immature)
A color variation of young birds.. eventually all white.

Egyptian Geese
They are back... Very colorful but...
agressive. Some have even taken over osprey nests.

Great Blue Heron
Common in Ballantrae ponds...
one of our largest wading birds, and great at fishing.

June was a fun month for birding...
New species arriving and I spent time photographing a "woodpecker Chronicle"
of nesting and hatching birds. I will have a page of the sequence up soon.
Get your cameras and binoculars out and
see our beautiful birds. Send us some of your photos, or call in your sightings.
