May birds were plentiful but most were very wet...
25" of rainfall in May!

This is still post-mating season for many birds and there are still some newly fledged birds to be seen. The last 2 months have produced some cute baby bird photos.

One new bird in Ballantrae this month, a Yellow-billed Cuckoo. My photo was really poor so, I am still looking.

Moorhen with chicks
The puddles are a fun place to play!

Red shouldered Hawk
Taken in the rain, he is still dripping.

Great Blue Heron
The swollen ponds and streams are great for fishing!

Ibis
Digging in the wet grass gives it a muddy bill.

Black Vulture
First one I have seen balancing on our power wires.

Some residents are sending me bird photos for identification...
